I did a few Friction logs for apps that integrate LLMs. Here I draw some common UI themes from their design. They are useful for those that are integrating LLMs into their apps.

<aside> 💡 The analysis focuses on the UI around the LLMs and not on the quality of the LLMs themselves, which is ultimately what matters. Given a certain LLM, how do you make a good UI with it?

Themes and lessons

  1. Teaches you how to use it
  2. Helps you continue to use it
