Summary

Having topics probably helps those that are coming to see what the novelty can do. It is easy for me to click on “History” or “Sports” if I don’t know what I am doing here.
Showing that many bots exist tells you how much you can do with this. Given the featured bots, my first impression is that this is mostly for entertainment.

Having a wide array of them tells you “there is a lot of different things you can do here”.
Having the specialized bots means that the user has to spend less effort prompting them to get what you want.
If you are looking for entertainment, you don’t want to think about how to be entertained. So, you go straight to CrimeYou and WhateverGPT. Much harder to entertain yourself with ChatGPT
The system prompts of these bots are somewhat constraining and they get boring fast.
It is easier to use Claude with Poe than with Anthropic’s UI.
I didn’t find any of the bots particularly compelling.
Having “bots” as a concept and “create your own bot” led me to make my own, which is a great way to learn about the system prompt and customize the system to my preferences.

The broom icon is a nice way to clear the context. I remember I found it a little confusing at first, but now it works well for me.
The Share feature lets you filter parts of the conversation. Viewers can then fork from there.
They don’t reflow the answer as it is streamed from the server.
CTRL+UP retrieves that last message!!! So happy.
